Clinical Conversation
Where Trauma Therapy Meets Metaphysics
Depth Psychology, Archetype, and the Search for Meaning
Guest: Dené Logan, LMFT
A client tells you the panic attacks have finally stopped. Then she goes quiet and says she no longer knows who she is without them. There is no protocol for that moment, and most of us were trained to steer the conversation back to symptoms.
Dené Logan works in that territory. A therapist and author with a background in depth psychology, she will talk about what this older tradition offers trauma therapists when clients begin asking what their lives mean, and who they are underneath the adaptations.
In This Conversation, We Will Explore:
-
Where depth psychology sits alongside the evidence-based trauma therapist training you already have
-
Archetype as clinical shorthand: giving clients language for the patterns they have lived inside for decades
-
What ritual does that insight alone cannot, and how to use it to mark turning points in recovery
-
Working with the aspects of self clients disowned early to belong
-
How to hear a metaphysical question as clinical material
-
Why this lens matters for clients who have done good trauma work and still feel unfinished
The format is a live, one-hour conversation with real-time chat and Q&A, built for working clinicians.

LMFT
Dené Logan, MFT, is a marriage and family therapist, group facilitator, and author based in Los Angeles. Alongside her private practice, she is a mindfulness coach and yoga teacher who supports people in showing up more authentically in all of their relationships, including the one they have with themselves.
Dené draws on her background in depth psychology to weave archetype, ritual, and metaphysics into the work of reclaiming the aspects of ourselves we were culturally conditioned to turn away from. Her first book, Sovereign Love: A Guide to Healing Relationships by Reclaiming the Masculine and Feminine Within, was published by Sounds True, and she is the co-host of the podcast Cheaper Than Therapy.
