EMDR Basic Training Attendance Policy
Welcome to EMDR Basic Training!
We’re excited to have you join us on this transformative journey. EMDR Basic Training is a dynamic, interactive experience that equips you with the skills to make a lasting impact on your clients’ lives. To ensure the best experience for you and your peers, we have a few important policies to keep our learning environment productive and supportive. We are an EMDRIA-approved training provider and follow EMDRIA's rules and regulations.
Attendance Expectations
Your full presence and participation are key to your success and the success of your peers. Here’s how you can get the most out of your training:
1. Be Present for All Training Hours:
- EMDRIA requires you to complete 20 hours of lecture, 20 hours of practicum, and 10 hours of consultation in real-time.
- Arrive on time and stay until the end of each session. If life happens and you need to arrive late or leave early, let us know in advance, and we’ll work with you (additional fees may apply).
2. Keep Your Camera On:
- We love seeing your smiling face! Keeping your camera on helps us stay connected and meet attendance requirements. This is also an EMDRIA requirement.
3. Set Up a Supportive Space:
- Treat your training environment like a counseling session—quiet, private, and free of distractions. Public spaces or attending while driving just won’t work.
4. Bring Your Best Self:
- Come ready to focus, learn, and engage. If you’re navigating significant serious medical or mental health challenges, we recommend rescheduling your training until you’re in a better place.
5. Be a Team Player:
- Create a safe, respectful space for your peers to learn and grow. We believe mistakes are part of the learning process—embrace them, and help your peers feel supported in doing the same. This is our shame free approach to learning.
6. Request Accommodations Early:
- We’re happy to support your needs! Please send any accommodation requests at least one week before training so we can make your experience as seamless as possible.
What If You Miss Some Time?
We understand that unexpected circumstances arise, life can be unpredictable. While we encourage full attendance with your cohort, we offer flexible options to help you make up missed time or transition to a new cohort if necessary.
Consultation Group Make-Up
- Missing more than 10 minutes of a consultation group requires attendance at a make-up session.
- Make-up sessions are $80/group and offered monthly. You may attend up to five make-up groups, scheduled in advance if needed.
- Find a consultation make up group here
Missed Training Time
Up to 8 Hours (Up to 4 hours lecture and/or practicum):
- Practicum Make-Up: $80/hour, offered monthly.
- Lecture Make-Up: $80/hour. Note: Missing Day 2 of Part 1 requires changing cohorts or withdrawing.
More than 8 Hours (4+ hours lecture or practicum):

- Less than 3 weeks before training: $300 fee.

Certification + CIT Attendance Policy
Attendance Expectations
It is expected that trainees attend consultation with their full presence and attention. Please attend consultation in a quiet, confidential space, just as you would a counseling session. Please do not attend consultation while driving or in a public space.
Consultation will be scheduled by mutual agreement between you and your consultant. Fees will be paid in accordance with your payment plan as agreed to upon registration.
Can I leave consultation early, arrive late, or step out?
Unfortunately, no. Missing any more than 10 minutes will impact your learning. Please plan to be present for all portions of consultation. Arriving late, leaving early, or missing portions of consultation will negatively impact your learning process along with your colleagues. If you are more than 10 minutes late to a consultation group, your consultant may not allow you to attend.
Cancellation Policy
Group Consultation
Group consultation operates differently from individual consultation. Upon enrollment, trainees register and commit to all 10 group consultation sessions at once as a full series.
If you miss a group consultation session:
- You will be required to register for a makeup group and pay the $40 fee for this makeup group. If you need to make up a group, email us at hello@traumatherapistinstitute.com for the link to register
Please plan accordingly. Missed group sessions affect not only your own learning but the experience of your fellow trainees.
Individual Consultation
A 48-hour notice of cancellation is required for individual consultation (more notice is always preferred). If a scheduled consultation is canceled less than 48 hours in advance, or if you do not show for a scheduled consultation, you are responsible for a late cancellation fee of $120. This charge will be billed by TTI via an invoice emailed to you.
We know life happens. Emergencies and confirmed medical situations should be discussed with us at hello@traumatherapistinstitute.com to help determine the right path forward.
Refunds & Withdrawals
Should you decide to withdraw after payment(s) have been made, please notify us in writing at hello@traumatherapistinstitute.com. The refund amount will be determined based on the total amount paid minus hours completed and advanced CEs used.
How refund amounts are determined:
Administrative fee: $100
Individual Consultation hours: $160 / hr
Group Consultation hours: $75 / hr
Continuing Education (CEs): $35 / CE
If the total hours provided and CEs used is higher than the amount paid to date, the consultee will be responsible for paying the remaining balance via auto-debit before a withdrawal can be processed
Consultation Attendance & Withdrawal
Attendance expectations:
It is expected that trainees attend consultation with their full presence and attention. Please attend consultation in a quiet, confidential space, just as you would a counseling session. Please do not attend consultation while driving or in a public space.
Consultation will be scheduled by mutual agreement between you and your consultant. Fees will be charged in accordance with your payment plan as agreed to upon registration.
A 48-hour notice of cancellation is required for both individual and group consultations (though more notice is preferred). If a scheduled consultation is canceled less than 48 hours in advance or if you do not show for a scheduled consultation, you are responsible for paying a late cancellation fee of $120 for individual consultation and $50 for group consultation. This charge will be billed by and paid to TTI through an invoice that will be emailed to you.
We know life happens. Emergencies and confirmed medical situations should be discussed with your consultant to help determine exceptions and the right path forward.
Can I leave consultation early, arrive late, or step out to take care of a chore?
Unfortunately, no. Missing any more than 10 minutes will impact your learning. Please plan to be present for all portions of consultation. Arriving late, leaving early, or missing portions of consultation will negatively impact your learning process along with your colleagues. If you are more than 10 minutes late to consultation, your consultant may not allow you to attend.
Tracking Hours
It is the consultee’s responsibility to keep a record of all consultation hours
they’ve acquired, along with the name of the consultant you worked with. Check your Kajabi course hub for an optional sheet to track hours.
If the consultee attends additional consultation hours beyond the number included in their package, they will be invoiced for the consultation provided:
-
Individual Consultation hours at $160/hr rate
- Group Consultation hours at $75/hr rate
The consultant shares responsibility for keeping a record of all consultation hours they have provided, and their record will be used to verify a consultee’s hours.
Refunds and Withdrawals
Should you decide to withdraw after payment(s) have been made, please notify us at hello@traumatherapistinstitute.com. The refund amount will be determined based on total amount paid minus hours completed and advanced CEs used.
How refund amounts are determined:
- Total amount of payments made will be calculated.
- Amounts deducted from refund:
- $100 administrative fee
- Individual Consultation hours at $160/hr rate
- Group Consultation hours at $75/hr rate
- Any CEs included in your package used will be priced at $20/CE. CEs used will be deducted from your package.
