Common Questions About EMDR Advanced Training
Do I need to have completed EMDR Basic Training to take these courses?+
Yes. Our advanced EMDR courses assume foundational knowledge of the 8-phase protocol and EMDR principles taught in Basic Training. A few courses allow concurrent enrollment if you are actively completing Basic Training — check individual course pages for specific prerequisites.
Do these courses count toward EMDRIA certification or recertification?+
Yes. All EMDR Advanced Training courses carry EMDRIA-approved continuing education credits. You can apply these CEs toward initial EMDRIA certification requirements or toward recertification once certified.
What's the difference between EMDR Basic Training and EMDR Advanced Training?+
EMDR Basic Training is the foundational 50-hour EMDRIA-approved program that qualifies you to practice EMDR. Advanced Training courses build on that foundation by applying EMDR to specific clinical presentations (complex PTSD, dissociation, eating disorders, grief, and more) or integrating EMDR with other modalities like IFS, polyvagal theory, or somatic approaches.
Are these courses live, on-demand, or both?+
Both. Most advanced courses are available on-demand so you can learn at your own pace. Some are offered as live cohorts where you practice in real time with instructors and peers, or as hybrid live + on-demand formats. Check each course page for delivery format and upcoming dates.
What clinical areas do your advanced EMDR courses cover?+
Complex PTSD, dissociation, attachment trauma, eating disorders, addictions, grief and loss, autism and ADHD, generational and ancestral trauma, religious abuse, recent events, and couples therapy. We also offer integrative courses combining EMDR with IFS, polyvagal theory, somatic approaches, and ego states work.
Can I stack multiple advanced courses to specialize my practice?+
Yes — many of our advanced courses are designed to build on each other. You might deepen your work with complex trauma by pairing our Complex PTSD, Dissociation, and Ego States courses, or develop an integrative practice through our EMDR & IFS, Polyvagal-Informed EMDR, or Somatic EMDR Practitioner Programs.
