Common Questions About TTI's Training Programs
Is TTI's EMDR training EMDRIA-approved?+
Yes. Trauma Therapist Institute is an EMDRIA-approved training provider. Our EMDR Basic Training meets all EMDRIA requirements for foundational EMDR education, including 20 hours of instruction, 20 hours of supervised practicum, and 10 hours of consultation. Graduates are eligible to pursue EMDRIA certification.
What is included in EMDR Basic Training?+
TTI's EMDR Basic Training is a 50-hour live virtual program that includes lecture, demonstration, supervised practicum in small groups, and 10 hours of post-training consultation. You also receive 40 EMDRIA-approved CE credits. Consultation hours are included in the cost, not sold separately.
How do I become an EMDR-certified therapist?+
Start with an EMDRIA-approved EMDR Basic Training, then complete additional consultation hours and advanced coursework. TTI offers the full pathway: Basic Training, Advanced EMDR Skills, practitioner programs, and certification support. Our training is designed so each step builds directly on the last.
Can I complete EMDR training online?+
Yes. TTI's EMDR Basic Training and practitioner programs are delivered as live virtual cohorts. You participate in real-time with instructors and peers, practice in supervised breakout groups, and receive consultation via video. This is live, interactive training, not pre-recorded on-demand content.
What is the difference between EMDRIA-approved training and other EMDR courses?+
EMDRIA-approved trainings meet the EMDR International Association's standards for instructor qualifications, curriculum content, supervised practicum, and consultation. Not all EMDR courses meet these requirements. EMDRIA approval matters if you plan to pursue EMDR certification or need credentials recognized by employers and insurance panels.
What practitioner programs does TTI offer beyond EMDR Basic Training?+
TTI offers EMDRIA-approved practitioner programs in EMDR and IFS integration, Polyvagal-Informed EMDR, and Somatic EMDR. Each program includes live instruction, supervised practice, and consultation hours. These are designed for therapists who have completed EMDR Basic Training and want to deepen their integrative trauma work.
Does TTI offer on-demand courses or only live training?+
Both. TTI offers live virtual cohort trainings (EMDR Basic Training, practitioner programs, and specialty workshops) as well as self-paced, on-demand courses on topics like dissociation, attachment, complex PTSD, anger, first responder trauma, and more. All courses include CE credits.
Who can enroll in TTI's training programs?+
TTI's courses are designed for licensed or license-eligible mental health professionals, including LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners. Some on-demand courses are also open to graduate students in clinical training. Specific prerequisites are listed on each course page.
What continuing education credits do TTI courses provide?+
It depends on the course. EMDR training courses carry EMDRIA-approved CEs. Trauma training and specialty courses carry ACE-approved (ASWB) continuing education credits for social workers and NBCC-approved credits for counselors. Some courses carry credits from multiple approval bodies. Check each course page for specific CE details.
