Clinical Conversation
Guest: Lambers Fisher
Live Training: July 1st | 1:00 PM Central Time
On-Demand: Replay available within one week of the live event for all who register
Right when the work gets real..your client pulls back. Now what? Join us for a clinically honest, shame free Clinical Conversation with marriage and family therapist, author, and national speaker Lambers Fisher as we look at how to move clients from avoidance into real permission around the topics they are afraid to name.
You will leave with practical language and frameworks you can bring into EMDR therapist training groups, trauma therapist training spaces, supervision hours, and everyday work with diverse clients.
In this conversation, we will explore:
- How fear, shame, and cultural messages keep clients silent about what hurts most, even in a trusted therapy relationship
- Ways avoidance shows up in EMDR and trauma work, including when clients say they are “fine” or stay in the safest parts of their story
- Specific questions and phrases that invite permission rather than pressure, so clients feel safer naming hard topics
- What to do in the moment when a client shuts down, changes the subject, or tests whether you can handle what they want to say
- How your own identities, beliefs, and training background shape which topics feel “safe” or “off limits” in the room
- How skills from EMDR therapist training, trauma therapist training, and EMDR consultant certification can support deeper, more honest conversations when sessions get charged
This is not a scripted webinar. It is a live, one hour conversation with real time chat and Q&A, created for working clinicians who want tools they can actually use this week.
