EMDR Advanced Training

EMDR Treatment Planning Training

Case Conceptualization, Target Sequencing, and Clinical Decision-Making

Trainer: Dana Carretta-Stein, LMHC
Live: Friday, July 24th, 2026 at 10 am Central | Available for synchronous, live learning

The EMDR Roadmap: A structured, session-ready framework for organizing your EMDR cases from intake to graduation.

You understand the EMDR protocol. You know the phases, you've done the training, and you can walk a client through BLS without thinking twice.

But when it's time to sit down and actually build the treatment plan, something stalls. Where do you start? How do you pick the right targets? What do you do when a client has three different presenting issues, a trauma history that's hard to map, and goals that feel vague even after the intake?

Most EMDR training teaches you the protocol. Very little of it teaches you how to organize the entire course of therapy. That gap is where clinicians get stuck, and it's exactly what this training addresses.

Where Learning Meets Community

Join a community of clinicians learning side by side, sharing real case insights and peer support so you can grow your skills with confidence alongside your peers in meaningful connection.

Practical Skills

Practical Interventions You'll Learn

By the end of this training, you will be able to:
  • Construct an EMDR-informed biopsychosocial case conceptualization that goes beyond symptom presentation to map the client's nervous system patterns, attachment history, and memory networks
  • Translate client goals into SMART treatment objectives using standardized assessments, so you always know whether therapy is working
  • Sequence targets using a clear, AIP-informed framework rather than choosing session by session
  • Identify which EMDR processing approach (EMD, EMDr, or full EMDR) fits a given client and a given goal
  • Monitor and adjust the treatment plan as new information emerges, including how to recognize when it's time to shift course
  • Determine clinical readiness for graduation using objective outcome data, not just the sense that things feel better

What You Get

What's Waiting for You Inside This Training

Clinical Competencies in Treating Dissociative Identities (EMDR)

EMDR-informed case conceptualization

Build a biopsychosocial conceptualization that maps nervous system patterns, attachment history, and memory networks.

Standardized assessment tools

Administer and interpret the PCL-5, GAD-7, PHQ-9, and DES-II, then integrate the data into your treatment plan.

SMART treatment objectives

Translate client goals into short and long-term objectives so you can track measurable progress from session one.

AIP-informed target sequencing

Sequence targets using a clear, structured framework instead of choosing session by session.

Protocol adaptations that keep you in the model

Use the floatback technique, affect bridge, and direct questioning to identify target memories in complex histories.

EMD, EMDr, and full EMDR

Identify which processing approach fits a given client and a given goal, and adjust as the work unfolds.

Live training with on-demand access

Join the live virtual training on July 24th, then access the recording with lifetime access.

Free community membership

Join TTI's shame-free community of practitioners for ongoing conversations, support, and resources. No cost, no catch.

Is This For You?

Who Is This Training For

This course is designed for EMDR-trained clinicians who want a clearer, more structured way to organize their EMDR cases. It is a strong fit if:
  • You've completed EMDR basic training, but still feel uncertain about how to build a treatment plan from intake to completion
  • Your clients are making progress in session, but you're not sure how to measure it or know when the work is done
  • You work with clients who have multiple presenting issues and aren't sure how to prioritize or sequence targets
  • You've heard terms like floatback, affect bridge, and target sequencing, but want a clearer framework for applying them
  • You want to feel more confident and organized in your EMDR work without overcomplicating the process

Dana is an EMDR therapist, nervous system specialist, and EMDRIA Approved Consultant whose work centers on how attachment patterns, family systems, generational trauma, and chronic stress shape nervous system functioning. She is known for her direct, structured teaching style and her ability to translate complex clinical concepts into frameworks therapists can actually use.

Her approach blends neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology, and EMDR phase work into clear, practical training that prioritizes integration over intellectualization. Dana's The EMDR Coach community has grown to over 126,000 followers on Instagram, where she regularly teaches EMDR concepts to both clinicians and the public.
