What EMDR Certification Requires (EMDRIA Standards)

To become an EMDR Certified Therapist through EMDR International Association, clinicians must complete:

EMDRIA-approved Basic Training
20 hours of consultation
- Minimum 10 individual
- Remaining group consultation
12 hours of EMDRIA-approved continuing education
At least 50 EMDR sessions with 25 clients
2+ years of professional experience
3 letters of recommendation
- 1 from an EMDRIA consultant
- 2 from professional peers
